SISTUS V EXHIBITION VISIONARY POPE

The celebrations for the fifth centenary of the birth of Sistus V, and the desire to make the most significant works and testimonies from the municipal collections dedicated to him accessible again, led to the setting-up of the exhibition “Sistus V – Visionary Pope”.

The exhibition can be visited on the Piano Nobile (principal floor) of Palazzo Paradisi. The works exhibited are:

• The paintings of Sistus V and the Peretti family;
• The prestigious collection of Sistine numismatics donated to the Municipality by Prof.Emidio Grisostomi;
• The Sistine Reliquary, a work of goldsmith’s art of inestimable value from the collection of the Sistine Museums and donated by the Popefor the protection and care of the Montaltese community.
