Mill of Sixtus V
Description
Nestled in the Valdaso Valley, amid orchards and vineyards, the Mill of Pope Sixtus V stands as an impressive landmark and one of the few surviving examples of a fortified mill in the Marche region. Its existence and operation have been documented since 1320, as recorded in the Catastrum Vetustior, the oldest historical municipal land register of Montalto.
The Mill of Pope Sixtus V will be open to visitors free of charge on the following dates, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM:
- Friday, July 24
- Friday, August 7 and 21
- Friday, September 4 and 18
