Description

A scenic route with numerous options for lovers of challenging trails. The journey starts in Montalto and descends toward the ancient village of Patrignone, following trails that cut across the SP 23. From there, you reach the Church of Madonna delle Grazie. From the church, the path turns right into the Fosso delle Pratole, climbing the opposite slope to Contrada Sant’Emidio. Here, you can choose to extend the route toward Contrada Valle Bianca, or descend into the Tesino valley, continuing through Contrada Sant’Emidio, with several marked detours for adventurous descents among vineyards and broom-covered hills. Upon reaching the valley, the trail leads back toward Montalto via a short stretch of paved road, then climbs through the scenic Contrada Monti until reaching the Sistino ridge at the intersection with SP 23, a few hundred meters from the starting point.

This itinerary can be enjoyed on foot, but it is best explored by bicycle, allowing you to fully appreciate the variety of landscapes the area has to offer.
