A modern rural church built near the Tesino River, almost on the boundary between the municipalities of Montalto and Castignano. It was erected after the 1943 Castignano earthquake, which destroyed the previous structure, whose construction date is unknown. Among the few known details, it is recorded that the earlier church was included in the visitations of the Diocese of Montalto in 1824.
