The third access gate to the village, Porta dei Leoni could only be crossed on foot. It is distinguished by a striking series of barrel vaults that frame Mount Ascensione. Its name comes from the ancient gate—now preserved in the civic collections—on which two wooden lions are carved. Walking through Porta dei Leoni, visitors can easily reach the San Rocco promenade, passing through spectacular panoramic viewpoints.
