In Piazza Sisto V, on August 19, 1923, the municipality inaugurated the elegant Monument to the 100 sons of Montalto who fell in the two World Wars: the triumphal column, topped by an angel holding the palm of victory, is modeled after those found in the Vittoriano in Rome, designed by the Montalto-born architect Giuseppe Sacconi.
