"Montalto Reliquary and the Treasures of the Sistine Museum" exhibition
Description
The masterpiece of French goldsmithing between the Middle Ages and the Renaissance thus re-enters the heart of its “dearest homeland” in Montalto delle Marche. An extraordinary work, already part of the treasure of Charles V of France and donated to Montalto by Pope Sixtus V, which our community has guarded for more than four centuries.
After a valuable conservation overhaul curated by the Piceno Sistine Museums and the Opificio delle Pietre Dure of Florence, the Reliquary is ready to shine in a new room set up in Palazzo Paradisi, thanks to the collaboration between the City Council, the Metromuseum Network of the Marca Villages and the Sistine Episcopal Museum of Montalto.
The exhibition can be visited during the following days and opening hours:
- every Saturday from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.;
- every Sunday from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and from 3:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
A unique opportunity to experience Montalto through its history, art and treasures.
