Verdi Palace
Description

The origins of the palace date back to the 18th century, as evidenced by its architectural features reflecting the late Baroque style and the “camera a canne” ceilings with decorated vaults. Externally, notable elements include the main entrance portal with a rounded arch and plastered frame, and the windows of the piano nobile, framed with molded brick in soft, delicate lines. The building was first restored at the end of the 19th century by the Verdi family and later damaged by the earthquakes of 1997 and 2016. It was recently acquired by the Municipality. The Verdi family also donated a valuable collection of legal texts and a rare periodical archive to the municipal library.

As part of the Metroborgo project, the building will be restored and functionally adapted for tourist accommodation, bringing a charming relais to the village. The structure will feature 14 spacious rooms spread over three floors, furnished with period pieces, with the piano nobile decorated with Pompeian-style frescoes and floral motifs. The rooftop garden at the rear will connect the hotel to the restaurant and the spa located in Palazzo Sacconi.
