For a refreshing pause, there is the Fonte del Cassero, offering the cool waters of the Vettore. The fountain commemorates the construction of the first aqueduct to reach Montalto at the end of the 19th century. It is called "Del Cassero" after the site where it stands, the highest point in the town. The project was carried out thanks to engineer Luigi Vannicola. In 1894, the new aqueduct was inaugurated, and a plaque was installed to commemorate the construction. The fountain consists of a visible structure made of bricks and travertine, with a square plan and a barrel-vaulted roof. Inside, it houses the hydraulic works for water distribution. At the top is the coat of arms of the Montalto community, and below, a mascaron depicts a laurel-crowned satyr, with a large basin beneath to collect the water. The sides of the façade feature two frames: the outer one in brick, with two stone capitals at the base of the arch, and the inner one in travertine. Another stone band runs below the mascaron and at the base of the basin.
